Oakley Prizm Lenses
Some of you may have seen the new Oakley lenses and asking “What is Prizm?”. Oakley has developed a new technology for their lenses and is always improving the quality for their customers.
Oakley Prizm Technology
Prizm is a new Oakley technology that fine-tunes vision for specific sports and environments. Emphasizing colors where the eye is most sensitive to detail Prizm improves performance and safety by enhancing vision without the compromises of conventional lens tints. Oakley is always ahead of the curve with these lenses being the first to ever be built for specific activities. Key benefits of the Prizm lenses will include sharpened visual acuity to help you see more clearly and react faster, enhance color recognition to help you spot what you need to see, optimizing your ability to see and track moving objects in your periphery, and improving performance and safety to help you compete with confidence. Think of it as ultra-precise color tuning designed specifically for the environment of your sport or activity.
Sport Specific Oakley Prizm Technology
The sport-specific lenses that have come out with the Prizm technology include the following: Trail, Golf, Road, Baseball for infield and outfield, Deep Water, and Shallow Water.
Prizm Trail helps cyclists see the subtle variations in the texture of their chosen dirt path. It enhances reds and browns while making plants and foliage colors more vivid. Trail Prizm enhances vision in both bright light and shadows.
Prizm Road helps riders spot subtle changes in the texture of road surfaces so they can react more quickly and ride safer. It enhances vision in both bright light and shadows while making white and yellow lane lines vivid. Traffic lights become more vibrant for safe crossing. Sky and greenery are color enhanced for a more pleasant riding experience.
Prizm Golf helps separate fairway, fringe, and rough. Will help gauge distance with accuracy and learn grass textures, especially when it comes to judging green speeds. Key benefits will include spotting grass textures, improved contrast between the cyans and greens of healthy grass and the yellows, oranges, and reds of unhealthy grass.
Prizm Baseball lenses make the critical hues more vivid accentuating the background to enhance the contrast between the ball and the colors behind it. They also ensure the white of the ball is as bright as possible. Infield helps make greens and reds richer so the white of the baseball stands out against grass and dirt. Outfield accentuates the blue of the sky to enhance the contrast of a fly ball.
Prizm Deep Water Polarized lenses are engineered to give the best fishing experience possible in deep water conditions. Filters out shades of blue that overwhelm your vision on open water. Boosts greens and reds to give you a better view of what’s going on beneath the water. HDPolarized lenses that block 99% of reflected glare.
Prizm Shallow Water Polarized lenses are engineered to give you the best fishing experience possible in shallow water conditions. This lens boasts precise green and copper hues that make it easier to see hiding spots. Keep whites bright so you can spot the flash of fish and flies on the surface. They help you see the shadows of fish while being HDPolarized lenses that block 99% of reflected glare.
Daily Prizm Polarized makes dull colors warm and rich for sharper contrast and a more pleasing visual experience. You will see deeper reds, more vibrant blue sky, blooming hues of green foliage, and the HDPolarized lenses block 99% of reflected glare.
New Prizm Technology
Some of their most recent Prizm releases will include Black, Torch, Jade, Sapphire, and Rose Iridium all with new Prizm technology. Rose Iridium Prizm lenses will be better utilized in snowy or overcast atmospheres and allow 21% VLT. Torch, Jade, and Sapphire Iridium Prizm lenses are great for that middle range of sunny but still a bit cloudy days and/or atmosphere. The three middle-range Prizm lenses allow 11-20% VLT.
